Modern awards
From 1 January 2010, the applicable modern award replaces the pre-reform federal award or preserved state award (NAPSA), where relevant. As soon as a modern award comes into operation in relation to an employee, the prior award (with the exception of an enterprise award) ceases to apply to that employee. This section provides an overview of how modern awards apply.
