All OHS legislation in Australia is built around a risk management approach. There is a primary Act (statute) and related regulations where the risk management approach is spelt out in varying degrees of detail. As risk management is the critical process to be applied in achieving OHS in the workplace, the same principles apply across both the private and public sectors.
