Revamped migration program to better meet skills shortages, govt says


Reforms announced by the Federal Government to the permanent skilled migration program will be ‘demand-driven’ rather than supply-driven, favouring the ‘best and brightest’, independent skilled migration visa applicants — those with in-demand advanced skills and qualifications — so that the needs of the economy, in sectors and regions where there are shortages of skilled workers, are met.
